12:59 am - My music is straight edge, but I'm not

I just took one of these Melatonin pills my mom bought be today and I feel like I've been punched in the head by a pillow. A soft fuzzy pillow that I want to lie down on forever. It might just be a placebo effect though.
My body is probably going slightly insane today from the random amounts of caffeine I threw at it (diet Coke, Red Bull and deliciously dark roast coffee all in 5 hours) and now I have natural sleep aids in there. Whooo!
Too tired to make this more coherent. I'm just happy that I only have three (3!!!) more days of work at the animal hospital. After this week, I will never have to wake up for that insane 6am shift ever again. Then I can return to my nocturnal ways and get enough sleep too. Before school starts up again that is.

Huulloo! I'm still in New Oreleans at the moment. Hanging in the hotel today because apparently my stomach has decided to rebel against me in a violent and fairly disgusting manner (too many Cliff Bars, not enough love) so I think it would be best for me not to go very far from a private and comfortable bathroom (ugh). Also, I fell asleep at 3:30 am last night thanks to my father's snoring. But despite the sleepless haze, the overall lack of breakfast/lunch foods, and the distempered beast that has taken over my torso--New Orleans is amazing.

Well.
They can't recover any of the data off of my hard drive. Fuck. I may send it to a professional recovery place, but it appears to be dead.
Double fuck.
The better news is that I'm getting a MacBook. *dances*
So to sum up:
New computer=YAY!
Losing 30GB of data: BOO!

Today I dropped off my poor little broken baby with one of my dad's old friends who knows stuff about computers. He has yet to get back to me about whether the hard drive is completely dead--though that is most likely true. But he says, if the hard drive is dead he will probably be able to get all of the files off of it. Yaaay! From now on I solemnly swear to back up my hard drive on my external drive and to print out all important papers. This random "you're computer is dead" shit is not happy.

In other news, I have an intense urge to color code the condoms at work. Why do they even make tuxedo condoms? Or purple condoms? Or red ones? There are all types of disturbing mental images involved with those. *shudders*

My poor, poor hard drive has DIED a painful death. The thing is totally fried, so I fear my darling Dell and I are going to part soon. Marlowe and I were together for a little over two years and oh how I will miss him. Gaaaaaaah.
Not having a computer is kind of stressful. "Kind of" being an understatement. I'm still hoping there is a way that I can retrieve data from the hard drive even though the computer refuses to even partially boot up. Dell probably isn't going to be much of a help either because I'm not under warranty anymore.
At least I don't have any papers due right now.
(I'm secretly hoping this is my excuse to get an Apple. Shhh, don't tell anyone).
